No business is too small to evade a cyber-attack or data breach. Enterprise security has moved beyond traditional antivirus solutions and it’s time that cybersecurity becomes an important aspect of any organization’s financial budget. If 2016 has been the year of ransomware attacks, then 2017 should be the year for enterprise security, data security and investing in a multi-layered cybersecurity approach.
2016 has seen some major version releases, enhancements, and recognition of Seqrite security solutions and features. As we move towards a new year, let us give you an insight into the key highlights of 2016.

Seqrite Endpoint Enterprise Suite Edition: In August 2016, EPS v 7.0 was released with new product variants and features. Enterprise Suite edition was the new addition in the endpoint security ecosystem offering advanced endpoint security and data protection bundled in one solution. A combination of Enterprise Total and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), the solution comes with new and enhanced features such as Patch Management, Advanced Device Control and more. Enterprise Suite not only delivers and fixes security vulnerabilities but also combines malware, device, browsing, phishing and data protection-all in one solution.
In October 2016, the product was tested by AVLabs and earned 100% effective score for real-time ransomware protection. For more information visit here.
Patch Management feature: Patch Management feature was included with version 7.0 release of endpoint security (EPS). The feature offers centralized solution to all Microsoft application vulnerability needs from one single console. The constantly evolving software landscape demands that the solution to managing Microsoft OS and apps has to be a centralized, automated and controlled process. The feature is available with EPS Total and Enterprise Suite editions and is designed to improve IT efficiency, minimize IT downtime and protect enterprise endpoints from vulnerabilities.
Data Loss Prevention (DLP): EPS version 7.1 was released in December 2016 with several new enhancements of Seqrite Data Loss Prevention (DLP). The version facilitates improved data protection with print activity controlling and monitoring feature. It also enables exclusion for internal domains, specific network drives/folders, and configure and monitor custom extension apart from predefined extensions.
Seqrite Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is an integrated feature of Enterprise Suite Edition and is available as an added feature pack with EPS Total and Business Editions. Enterprises can avail DLP feature pack for specific department/endpoints.
In August 2016, SC Magazine gave a 4-star rating to Seqrite EPS with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and recognized its advanced behavioral detection capability.

Seqrite Mobile Device Management (MDM)
In 2016, Seqrite released several versions of Mobile Device Management (MDM) offering new features and enhancements and increased scalability, with no limit to the number of iOS, Android and Windows devices that can be supported. The new and enhanced features also streamline MDM configuration processes and provide more comprehensive reporting capabilities.
Key MDM features for enhanced device security
Virtual Fencing: Using geographical locations, Wi-Fi SSIDs and time as boundaries, Seqrite MDM is now better able to secure confidential SME data. Administrators can set up rules to allow or restrict device usage and application configurations. “Fence triggers” will send alerts to administrators when the device enters or exits assigned boundaries.
Flexible Policies: Administrators can now apply specific policies to a selected group to secure devices and prevent data loss. Policies include preventing or restricting GPS access and blocking devices from connecting to other devices through USBs, which can be used maliciously to spread malware.
Web Security Enhancement: Administrators can now add any specific keyword or URL to a blacklist or whitelist and can also block keywords, URLs or domains. Expanded web security now supports more browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Opera, and incognito browsing as well.
Custom Reporting Feature: A new custom reporting feature allows administrators to create actionable, results-driven statistics about all company-owned devices. Reports can be based on specific devices, user groups, date ranges, file preferences or profiles. Real-time graphical summaries provide information on infection status, app non-compliance, network data usage and more.
MDM Automatic Upgrades: The new “upgrade setting” assists the administrator in keeping all devices up to date and secure with the latest version of the MDM client application. Not only does this give the administrator access to the latest features, but it also improves device security.
With ransomware attacks becoming the biggest cybersecurity threat for enterprises, Seqrite anti-ransomware features will be something to look forward to in 2017. Seqrite security solutions are designed to protect and eliminate new and unknown ransomware threats and provide zero-day protection with its Advanced DNAScan Technology. Till October 2016, Seqrite security solutions have successfully blocked around 1.25 million (12.5 lakh) ransomware infections. The Backup and Restore feature was successful in recovering 3.5 TB of data.
Watch out for this space. We will be sharing more important updates in 2017 on Seqrite features and enhancement.
Seqrite wishes you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2017.
